On April 3rd, Dr. Andrew Moser, DOM, MBA with Sacred Patterns Acupuncture was one of the featured presenters at the Remarkable Referrals BNI chapter. Dr. Moser joined BNI about two months ago and it has been one of the best things that have helped with connecting to other business professionals in Albuquerque. Dr. Moser's presentation was on:
- his childhood journey to Albuquerque
- his education at UNM - earning his BBA in Entrepreneurship, and his two MBA's in Marketing and Management of Technology (MOT)
- the education and process of becoming a Doctor of Oriental Medicine (DOM)
- where the clinic is located: 605 Monroe St NE, ABQ, NM 87110
- the foundations of Traditional Chinese Medicine: Qi, Yin and Yang, Shen (Spirit), Blood, pathogens (wind, damp, phlegm, stasis), etc.
- the different diagnostic methods (observing the tongue, palpating the pulses, and Western vitals)
- the connection of the meridians and their respective Organs
- an example of how a single point can be used: Lung-9 (Source Point of the Lungs)
- microsystems (the ear and hand) and ways acupuncture can treat pain
- the benefits of acupuncture
- and the World Health Organization's list of approved acupuncture treatments.
Overall, it was a fantastic opportunity to educate all that is required to become a Doctor of Oriental Medicine, the eloquent ways Traditional Chinese Medicine views the world, and how acupuncture can help support the whole person (mind, body, and spirit).
